The “2005 International Fair on Accessories for Manufacturing Industry (Mobile) and Global Purchase (Tianjin, China) and Summit Forum of International Mobile Industry” jointly sponsored by the Tianjin Commerce Commission, Tianjin Municipal Economic Commission, Information Industry Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government and Administrative Commission of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area was held at the Tianjin Binhai International Exhibition and Convention Center from May 26 to 28, 2005.

The “2005 International Fair on Accessories for Manufacturing Industry (Mobile) and Global Purchase (Tianjin, China)” was held based on the former two successful sessions to cope with the trend and characteristics of the mobile industry development after continuous investigation and innovation. This session of the Fair focused on construction of a platform for the mobile industry upstream and downstream enterprises to make commercial negotiations, technical exchanges and information transfer. The Fair can promote exchanges among all the links in the industrial chain, strengthen R&D and production of mobile phones and accessories, effectively introduce certain key technologies for the industry chain, enhance our domestic mobile industry overall R&D, designing and production capabilities; the Fair also construct a bridge for our mobile businesses to export their products.

This Fair was fully supported by the Ministry of Information Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, as well as China Electronic Chamber of Commerce, China Telecommunication Association Telecommunication Equipment Technical Commission, China Electronic Components Association, Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, Japan Electronics and Information Industry Association (JEITA), Korea Electronic Industry Promotion Association (EIAK), China Semiconductor Industry Association, Chinacomponents.com.cn, ChinaMet.com.cn, Alibaba (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd., Taibei Computer Association, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Japan Trade Promotion Beijing Representative Office, Korean Trade and Investment Promotion, Korean Medium and Small Enterprise Promotion Organization China Affairs Office.
   
Mr. Pi Qiansheng, a standing member of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of CPC and director of the Binhai New Area Administrative Commission, Mr. Wang Shuzu, Vice President of the Tianjin People’s Congress, Mr. Jean Germain, Mayor of Tours of France, Mr. Wang Jianzhang, Director of the Ministry of Information Industry Comprehensive Planning Department, Mr. Wen Xueli, Council Chairman of China Electronic Component Association, Mr. Zhang Qingzhong, Director of China Telecommunication Association Telecommunication Equipment Technical Commission, Mr. Ni Mingsheng, Vice President of Motorola Asia-Pacific Area, Mr. Wu Jiguo, Vice General Manager of Nokia Capitel, Mr. Lu Jixue, General Manager of Tianjin Samsung Telecommunication Co., Ltd., Mr. Ma Xiaojian, Vice General Manager of Ningbo Bird Co., Ltd. were present in the opening ceremony.
   
This Fair occupied a floor space of 15,000 square meters with 542 exhibition booths, among which 100 were set up by 30 purchasers, 442 by 296 suppliers. This Fair extended the scale and quality of exhibitors increased greatly. There were 51 purchasers confirming to participate in exhibition and meetings, including mobile brand businesses, designing companies, mobile foundries, global purchasing centers, etc. The worldwide famous brand businesses like Motorola, Nokia, Siemens, Sony Ericsson, LG, Matsushita, Bird, Mitsubishi, NEC all participated collectively.
   
During the three days’ negotiations, more than 2,500 enterprises and 16,000 people participated. Purchasers released buying lists covering 12 categories and the hotspot products to be purchased included mobile shells, batteries, push buttons, antennas, battery chargers, accessories, earphones and PCB. Visitors to the Fair include 14% in the field of complete mobile phones, 11% in electronic components, 11% in batteries, 10% in rubber and plastic parts, 8% in connectors and spare parts, 6% in metal and stamped parts, among whom 12% were chairmen, CEO, presidents, general managers and 20% were department managers. The commercial matching activities organized by the Administrative Commission during the Fair were warmly welcomed by all the participants with 600 enterprise attendance. At the same time, the Mobile Industry Managing Talent Salon was formally established attracting 150 medium and senior managerial people from the mobile industry to participate.
   
This Fair held many sessions of professional forums and seminars simultaneously to introduce the latest mobile industry policies, trend, current purchase and technical development status and applications from various levels and angles. This was also the first high-level focused discussion in such a large scale among the Chinese government, mobile manufacturers, designing businesses and suppliers. Five forums and seminars were held one after another, i.e., “Summit Forum of International Mobile Industry”, “Seminar of Multimedia Mobile Designing Technology”, “Information Releasing of Purchase & Supply in Mobile Manufacturing Industry”, “Mobile Technology Seminar & New Technology and New Product Releasing ” and “Enterprise Information Releasing” with more than 50 honorable guests making presentations and 2,000 plus professional audience.
